The Origins

A Family

Franck & Elodie Mio, Château Grangey Saint-Emilion

Grangey Through the Generations

The estate was purchased in 1953 by Félix and Lucette Araoz, then passed on to their daughter Claudine and her husband Adrien Mio.

In 2011, we took over Grangey with the desire to do things our own way—without betraying the spirit of the place.
We renovated the buildings, modernised the winery to focus on quality, and created a tasting room designed as a warm, welcoming space.

Day after day, we move forward here with care, between vineyard and cellar.
The wine we craft reflects this ongoing attention: sincere, unadorned, and deeply rooted in this land.

Elodie and Franck Mio

Working the vines planted by my grandparents means carrying on their gesture — and in turn, passing on something greater than ourselves.

Château Grangey is located in the village of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, within the Saint-Émilion appellation area. Nestled on a hillside, the estate overlooks the Barbanne stream, which marks both the northern boundary of the commune and the edge of the Saint-Émilion jurisdiction, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
